Introduction
The Master of Applied Science - Critical Care Paramedicine (MAScCCP) is an applied degree that emphasizes the practical application of theoretical concepts. Through participation in practical laboratory sessions, high-fidelity simulations, and extensive clinical and field preceptorships, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary for independent practice at the Critical Care Paramedic level, as well as aptitudes that will enable them to become leaders in shaping the future of the profession. The MASc-CCP requires 2 years of full-time study or the part-time equivalent and is available to current paramedic practitioners who hold a BASc in Paramedicine or equivalent undergraduate degree.
Entrance Requirements
- Bachelor of Applied Science - Paramedicine from CNA-Q
- or
- A recognized equivalent undergraduate degree paramedic program from an accredited higher education institution with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Additional Admission Requirements
- Submit a Curriculum Vitae (C.V.);
- Submit two confidential recommendation letters, preferably one professional and one academic;
- A satisfactory performance in the personal interview with the Admissions Committee;
- Current licensure/registration with a recognized registry/licensure body.
Language Proficiency Requirements
Students entering this program must meet English language proficiency requirements by obtaining one of the following:
- The required score on the CNA-Q English Placement Test or a passing score from another approved internationally recognized English language test, as validated by the Admissions & Registration Department.
- A valid IELTS Academic Test Report Form with an overall band of 6.0 with no individual band score (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) below 6.0.
