Introduction
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is the critical first step toward a career in professional nursing. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs, recognizes the BSN degree as the minimum educational requirement for professional nursing practice.
The UF College of Nursing BSN degree prepares graduates to enter professional positions in a variety of care settings with clients of all ages from diverse populations, or for advancement to a graduate degree program in nursing. Baccalaureate graduates are prepared to practice as a generalist across the lifespan and in a variety of settings.
