Students who have possession of an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that empowers in the country issuing the degree for access to Master's degrees.
Goals
The general objective of this Master is to expand the comprehensive postgraduate training of the student in other fields of knowledge of Health Sciences, such as Podiatry.
To achieve this, students will acquire a solid knowledge of the conceptual foundations of the discipline, as well as existing applied research techniques. This will allow you to achieve two specific objectives: to be able to develop and evaluate research projects in the field of podiatry and b) to be able to propose and develop investigations in the field of podiatry that represent an advance in scientific knowledge that results in users.

General competences
- Acquisition by the student of advanced training, specialized and multidisciplinary, oriented towards specialization in the field of podiatry research.
- Promote initiation in research tasks, through knowledge and application of quantitative and qualitative research techniques for the analysis of statistical data.
- Be able to initiate an independent investigation and try to interpret results.
- Show originality in carrying out a job within the discipline of specialization.
- Identify the relevant information sources and their contents.
- Mastering the technical and computer tools necessary to be able to do an applied study.
- Apply deductive and inductive reasoning to the analysis and description of reality with respect to podiatry.
Cross-cutting competences
- Prepare professionals in promoting respect for fundamental rights and equality between men and women.
- Prepare professionals in the respect and promotion of Human Rights and the principles of universal accessibility and design for all.
- To train professionals in promoting the values of a culture of peace and democratic values and equality between genders and cultures.
- Formulate questions to initiate research, methodological designs, and evaluation of results, which allow the development of study programs adapted to the context-based on different methodological approaches.
- Plan, design and develop adapted and viable projects, acting responsibly and ethically, making decisions, and solving problems with an attitude based on tolerance and respect.
Specific competences
- Be able to understand, deepen, and analyze the theoretical foundations of podiatry and its development in research.
- Be able to recognize and deepen research related to podiatry and special populations.
- Demonstrate good ability in the recognition and use of research possibilities in podiatry from an interdisciplinary perspective.
- Understand the legislative and ethical development that affects the current podiatric profession.
- Prepare researchers who are capable of detecting psychological and physical problems from the discipline of podiatry, and especially those derived from the competencies that emanate from the profession itself in order to investigate them.
- Develop observation and recording strategies in accordance with the proposed objects and methodology, as well as the characteristics of the object or field of study or intervention.
- Being able to design and implement coherent and adapted projects in terms of work times and routines, the nature of the object, context, and available capacities and potentialities.
- Initiate research tasks so that they are able to recognize the impact of podiatry on individual and population health.
Admission
The requirements for access to the proposed degree are according to article 16, Royal Decree 1393/2007, modified by Royal Decree 861/2010, of July 2:
- To access the official Master's degrees, it will be necessary to hold an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution belonging to another State that is part of the European Higher Education Area that empowers there to access teachings of Master.
- Likewise, graduates in accordance with educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area will be able to access without having their qualifications approved, after verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and empower in the country issuing the degree for access to postgraduate education. Access by this means will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree that the interested party is in possession, nor its recognition for other purposes than that of taking the Master's degrees.
General access criteria:
The specific qualifications that will facilitate access to the Master are the following:
Degree in Podiatry.
Diploma in Podiatry.
Conditions or special access tests:
Assessment of the student's curriculum, taking into account their professional experience, its projection in relation to the objectives of the master, as well as their academic record.

- Academic training - 30 points /%
- Professional activity - 30 points /%
- Research activity related to podiatry - 15 points /%
- Accredited knowledge of English - 10 points /%
- Other merits related to experience or work in podiatry - 15 points /%
Offer of places: 30 places. If the minimum number of students foreseen is not reached in a course, the University may choose not to open the teaching group.
