Our graduate programs are designed for the working adult to attend classes on a part-time academic schedule.

The DNP program goes beyond the master’s level to help you master the academic knowledge and clinical skills necessary for health promotion, disease prevention, assessment, and management of common acute and chronic illnesses.

You will develop the analytical skills used in policy formation and the management of health care populations.

You will develop the skills to incorporate financial, quality care, safety, and outcome evaluation analyses into your practice.

DNP Specializations

Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP)

Students in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program may pursue either a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The curriculum is based upon the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner core courses, focusing on acute care specialty courses and acute care practicum. One aspect of the Saint Anthony College of Nursing program sets it apart from other schools in the acute care diagnostics and therapeutics course, with 100 clinical hours in radiology, pharmacotherapeutics, nutritional support, and pulmonary critical care. Available as a post-baccalaureate and post-master option.

Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practioner (AG- PCNP)

Our Nurse Practitioner program prepares you to be outstanding primary care providers for ageing adults for BSN or MSN-prepared students. Available as a post-baccalaureate and post-master option.

Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Our Nurse Practitioner program prepares you to be outstanding primary care providers for mothers, infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients for BSN or MSN-prepared students. Available as a post-baccalaureate and post-master option.

Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AG-CNS)

For BSN or MSN-prepared students, this program focuses on the maturing adult. A Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) uses evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to influence patient care.

A CNS serves as a role model to staff, mentors, supervises less experienced staff, identifies and researches problems, and applies research findings to improve patient outcomes. Available as a post-baccalaureate and post-master option.

Clinical Leadership

Designed for nurses who aspire to be leaders or who hold leadership positions, the BSN-DNP Clinical Leadership program prepares nurses to serve in management roles in clinical environments. In addition to the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) core classes, which advance nursing practice knowledge, this program focuses on providing students with operational, human resource, legal and risk management, and strategic leadership knowledge. Practicum experiences are tailored to each student’s management experience. Nurses with either a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing degree can enrol.

Leader in Macro/Micro Health Care Systems

The Leadership in Macro/Micro Healthcare Systems option for the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree helps current nursing leaders in health care administration, management, and education to develop further their leadership, finance and operations, and evidence-based practice.
