Admissions Requirements

A recommended high-school curriculum that provides good preparation for Greensboro College includes:

  • English (4 units)
  • Mathematics (3 units, should include Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2)
  • Science (2 units, of which one must be a laboratory science)
  • History (2 units)
  • Foreign language (2 units of the same language)
  • Electives (music, art, physical education and/or social science)

A college curriculum that provides good preparation for Greensboro College includes coursework in:

Students or applicants who need to submit documentation to International Student Services should do this via the secure link in the application portal (linked under the online application information) or mailed to International Students Admissions Office at 815 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27401.

Application deadlines for F-1 Students:

  • April 1 – Fall admission
  • October 1 – Spring admission

Applications received after the deadline will be accepted, but the processing time for the documents and I-20/visa process may cause you to miss the deadline for your preferred semester start date.

F-1 Student Checklist Applying from Out of the US

  1. Choose a program that fits your goals
  2. Contact Greensboro Admission to obtain your tuition, fees, and room/board costs for the current semester.
  3. Complete an online application.
  4. Submit proof of completion of high school or a degree program - Submit proof of completion of a high school or the equivalent, or a college degree. Any documents not in English must be accompanied by an official English Translation. Submit your official high school degree, diploma, national test scores, or your official college/university degree or diploma
  5. Submit valid immigration documents
  6. Submit proof of English language proficiency*
  7. Complete the International Student Information form located on the CommonApp portal
  8. Submit a request for the Affidavit of Financial Support document
  9. Set up your Pride Page
  10. Pay your Greensboro College I-20 processing fee of $75.00
  11. Pay the Sevis Fee to the US Government
  12. Research information on the Consulate/Embassy where you will apply for the visa
  13. Suggested (and required) items to bring to the interview for your visa application.**
  14. Pay your $250.00 deposit for the semester.
  15. Research and book your flight to the US
  16. Register and pay for your classes.
  17. Check your GC email and set up your Magnus account.
  18. Make sure you have the correct immunizations.
