The curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine Dentistry consists of five years of medical and dental courses. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is entitled to receive a DMD diploma (“LEKARZ-DENTYSTA” title).

The Medical University of Warsaw offers a 5-year Dental Program to High School graduates. The program adapted to the EU standards provides more than 5000 hours of instruction and 300 ECTS.

This programme is designed to unify the basic and clinical sciences, as it is believed that scientific and professional development cannot be separated but should proceed concurrently throughout the programme.

At the International University of Catalonia we train professionals with a clear objective: to become specialists in the diagnosis, prevention and solution of the most frequent oral problems in the pediatric population with the complement of theoretical and practical learning.

This three-year, part-time programme is for dental practitioners who want to improve their skills within the discipline of implant dentistry. This course provides exemplary one-to-one supervision within a private clinical practice setting alongside theoretical teaching to support you on your journey to becoming a confident implantologist.

This educational program for medical students includes theoretical courses, practical laboratories and clinical internships for the dentistry specialization.

The education process is formed for the raising students’ interest and strength, to open new opportunities and to encourage students for the continuing learning approach. Through the NVU’s different training programs, NVU DMD students can provide required oral health services to the community, while expansion their knowledge about public health problems. These academically based training programs offer students and faculty members to take part in community-based activities as an important component of academic work.

Dental materials

Students interested in pursuing a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) should major in Biology or Chemistry (with a Biology minor). For the best preparation, we recommend a double major in both Biology and Chemistry. Students should review the admissions requirements for the professional schools of their choice.

Both dental hygienists and dental therapists help people maintain good oral health by providing treatments, carrying out procedures and giving dietary and hygiene advice. The role of the dental therapist is the same as a dental hygienist, however, they can also carry out some of the restorative work dentists do, such as fillings and extractions. This dual role BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy course, accredited by the General Dental Council (GDC), gives you the theory and practical skills required to register as both a dental hygienist and dental therapist with the GDC.

The program aims to train a professional dentist under modern international standards, who: Possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for professional activities, who qualitatively uses research, ethical, and communication skills, develops professionally in an ever-changing environment.

The International Dentist Program is designed to allow qualified dentists educated in countries outside the United States, to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in the United States.

The four-year predoctoral program prepares students to provide basic health promotion and disease prevention, diagnose and develop treatment plans, analyze complex medical and dental cases, and achieve competency in all areas defined for general practitioners.

The education laws from 1898 (art.89) state that “pharmaceutical and dental education” are part of the Faculty of Medicine in Bucharest, regarding “the courses and laboratories, as well as the placements in hospitals and mandatory examinations which must be passed in order to obtain the title of Dentist”. Nevertheless, the stipulations of these laws concerning the education of dentists were not officially enforced back then.
