Health Care Programmes in Hungary 2025

This program aims to train professionals who possess high-level professional knowledge, who take up the responsibility to provide nursing for individuals, families, and communities, who are able to do their best in health care and rehabilitation, who can make decisions in preventive care, curing, nursing care and rehabilitation at all levels of health and social provision.

ELTE's Health Policy Planning and Financing MSc program approaches health policy and its financing with a transdisciplinary social science perspective, including not only the main orienting knowledge of economics, health- and public policy, finance and statistics but also in a holistic view of health and wellbeing other disciplines like sociology, epidemiology, psychology and legal-ethical knowledge are integrated into its curriculum. It will also focus on the different stakeholders involved in healthcare planning and management, financing and delivery at local, regional, national and international levels.

This Program is open to high school graduates and students with university studies as well, as it is a combined Bachelor and Master Program.

The MSc in APRN Nursing provide patient-centered, high quality care by partnering with patients and their caregivers. Nurse Practitioners combine their clinical expertise with health prevention and health management and deliver a unique blend of nursing and medical care.

This programme is designed to unify the basic and clinical sciences, as it is believed that scientific and professional development cannot be separated but should proceed concurrently throughout the programme.

Our Psychology BA Programme was the most popular choice for students applying for the Faculty of Humanities, and the second most popular choice for future psychologists in Hungary in 2018 continuing a decade-long trend. In spite of the increasing enrolment figures, our Psychology BA Programme has preserved a familiar, friendly atmosphere and supportive personal relations between students and academic staff. Our university is supported by the Reformed Church in Hungary, but all majors at the Faculty of Humanities follow secular curricula set by the academic standards of the HAC (Hungarian Accreditation Committee). We aim at fostering cooperation and mutual responsibility among students thereby providing a protected community for productive studies.

The Psychology major involves coursework that explores behavior, emotions, cognitive processes and the factors that influence them from a variety of perspectives.

A public health supervisor deals with epidemiological tasks that consist of the organisation of public health investigations and the analysis of data retrieved during the investigations. Graduated public health supervisors have a deep knowledge of the theory and practice of hospital hygiene, the epidemiology of hospital-acquired infections, the methodology of disinfection and sterilization, as well. They plan and realize nosocomial surveillance, monitor the health status of the population, plan, organize, realize and evaluate preventive programmes.

This program involves different scientific fields of natural sciences, technological sciences, and humanities as well. The focus of investigations is on the phenomena of cognition - perception, attention, memory, reasoning, thinking, and behavior - from an interdisciplinary perspective: Anthropology, Artificial Intelligence, Biology, Linguistics, Neuroscience, Philosophy, and Psychology have contributed to its development as core disciplines.

This programme in OTM in Dentistry provides complete theoretical and practical training in dentistry. The diploma issued by the Medical School is accepted by all European Union countries and several other countries (Norway, USA, Canada, Israel, etc.)The curriculum of the five-year program (10 semesters) is designed to unify the basic and clinical sciences, as it is believed that scientific and professional development cannot be sharply separated but should proceed concurrently throughout the program.

The structure of the PhD in Basic Medical Sciences of the Medical Faculty is similar to those of most European and American universities. The doctoral (PhD) degree, as the highest qualification attainable at university, is confer- red by the University of Pécs on those who have given evidence of having acquired sufficient practical skills and theoretical knowledge to conduct scientific research independently.

The Academic program offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy begins with an introduction to the basic sciences providing a basis for further pharmaceutical studies. In the second part of the program, students take part in general and special pharmaceutical education at the university departments, teaching pharmacies, institutes, hospitals and clinical pharmacies, laboratories, and pharmaceutical works. The faculty seeks to educate its undergraduates by promoting their intellectual development and their progressive accumulation of competence in all fields of modern pharmacy. After the successful completion of the program the title of Doctor Pharmacy is awarded (pharmacist, PharmD.).

Nurse program provides theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing science. The program is to encompass all aspects of care, additionally provides courses on subjects such as psychological care, nursing research, nursing management, and counseling.

European Nursing Foundation Program is an intensive program geared towards educating internationally trained/qualified nurses to specifically meet the standards and expectations of NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council – UK).

The aim of the BSc in public health program is to provide students with solid knowledge of the discipline, so that they understand the basic concepts of public health and are able to suggest solutions to public health challenges.
