Develop the specialized clinical skills necessary to provide compassionate care as a board-certified FNP in Carlow University's CCNE-accredited Post-Master's Certificate in Family (Individual Across the Lifespan) Nurse Practitioner program, which is available to those who already hold a Master of Science in Nursing. Students can graduate in 1-2 years prepared to partner with patients to prevent disease and restore wellness. Graduates can sit for AANP or ANCC national board certification.

The Ohio University Post-Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program is designed to give active nurses the skills, confidence, and autonomy needed to become a family nurse practitioner (FNP). The 20 credit-hour program provides students with the current theory and advanced practical knowledge necessary to be able to assess and manage the health of patients ranging from children to adults. It prepares students for providing care to patients of all ages and in a variety of medical settings.

The Family Nurse Practitioner is designed to expand the knowledge of the nurse as it relates to the role of the family nurse practitioner and advanced nursing practice. Family nurse practitioners serve as the primary health care providers in many diverse practice settings including, but not limited to, private medical offices, health clinics and acute care settings.

The Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate (FNP PGC) program is available to registered nurses who hold a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree who desire to continue their education and expand their skill set to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

This credit-bearing course will develop and enhance your knowledge, practical and clinical skills in the specialist area of paediatric osteopathic practice, and will provide you with valuable hands-on experience of working within Europe’s largest osteopathic clinic under the supervision of experienced osteopaths.

Family Nurse Practitioner Certificates require completion of 20-29 semester credit hours. Students who have taken Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Health Assessment, and Advanced Nursing Pharmacotherapeutics within the past three years are not required to repeat those nine hours of coursework.
