The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology is concerned with quality of life and the many aspects of human movement. Significant research contributions, education and service are related to the study of physiological and psychological responsiveness to vigorous and relevant physical activities. The Physical Therapy program is a full time three-year post-baccalaureate Doctor of Physical Therapy degree curriculum. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree.

Candidates for this program are students who have complete their associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. Students must successfully complete an A.A.S. in Respiratory Therapy, possess an active Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), and hold a current unencumbered license in North Carolina.
