The Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission approves the nursing program, and the program is accredited by National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation. Students who complete the two-year associate degree program are eligible to take national board exams for registered nurses. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in applied and social sciences and an understanding of the fundamentals of patient care in a variety of settings. Throughout the program, students integrate experience caring for patients in acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community agencies. Successful completion of this program leads to an Associate in Nursing, Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Related Program (DTA/MRP). Students with this degree need only to complete senior-level courses at select universities in the state of Washington to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Gateway Technical College’s Nursing associate degree program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing and includes classroom instruction and supervised clinical experiences in local hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The degree program is offered at the Kenosha and Burlington Campuses but students can also take classes online. Courses include anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, psychology and other behavioral sciences.

The Nursing (NURS) program at Skagit Valley College (SVC) offers a Registered Nursing, AAS degree for nurses who have graduated from a PN program and have a current Washington State unencumbered LPN license. The LPN to RN focuses on the second year of Registered Nursing courses. Students complete the same RN program prerequisites and related education courses required for the ADN DTA/MRP Nursing degree. The program was designed to create a pathway for PN graduates to move into high-wage, high-demand career opportunities in healthcare. Graduates receive an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing and are eligible to apply for the State Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for Registered Nursing. This is 3 to 4 quarters, full-time. *If seats are available, students may choose to take SOC 191 and receive the ADN DTA/MPR Nursing degree.

The Pharmacy Management program, at Burnett International College, is designed to prepare students for employment as a senior or lead pharmacy technician or coordinator, pharmacy manager, or pharmacy technician supervisor/trainee in hospitals, nursing care facilities, private or public retail drug stores, drug manufacturing facilities, and wholesale drug houses. Students are taught how to identify and understand drug nomenclature, dosage forms, routes of administration, and abbreviations used in pharmacy.
