Course description

Atlântica created the postgraduate course in Critical Ill, a course that aims to specialize professionals in emergency and emergency situations. Currently, the Integrated Medical Emergency System along with the restructuring of hospital emergency services, with the individual introduction of the emergency room and resuscitation, as well as the definition of care units with advanced life support and greenways, have led to a need training of doctors and nurses in the critical patient's global area.

Critical Illness Medicine is thus supported by the essential common denominators: scientific, technical-pedagogical and logistic, of resuscitation and support of the vital functions of this type of patient.

Thus, from the extensive current clinical information it becomes necessary to select and congregate specific program contents and procedures in a Postgraduate course that integrates the various disciplines applicable in the area of ​​Critical Illness Medicine: Obstetric and Neonatal Emergencies, Pediatric Emergencies, Adult Resuscitation, Trauma, Intensive Care and Management of Exceptional Situations and Catastrophe Medicine.

General Purpose

To enable graduates in Medicine and Nursing, with advanced knowledge in the area of ​​the Critical Patient, to develop their intervention in the context of Pre and Intra-hospital Emergency, Trauma and Situations of Exception.

Specific Objectives:

  • Acquire knowledge in the area of ​​the Critical Ill;
  • Provide doctors and nurses with the possibility of conducting nationally and internationally accredited courses in the Critically Ill area
  • To promote the execution of courses with advanced clinical simulation in the areas of Medical Emergency, Trauma, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Catastrophe.
