The resources available to the health systems are limited and insufficient to apply any diagnostic or therapeutic modality to all patients. This observation makes it necessary to introduce economic concepts such as profitability, cost and benefit, and equitable allocation of health resources. The difference between the needs and the available resources requires that these be used in the best possible way to achieve the objectives set. This is how Health Management was born. As Health Management has become a true profession and the importance of the professional qualification of managers for the Health System to function correctly is being understood, the genuine instruments for measuring this social profitability are being structured.

Myofunctional therapy is one of the speech therapy applications aimed at curing disorders related to muscle functionality. Today, it is considered one of the most advanced therapies and with the greatest demand. Its application can be both active, with the voluntary participation of the patient himself, and passive, with the application of different techniques and maneuvers by the therapist. There are many applications both in children and adults: atypical swallowing, mouth breathing, neurological or neuromuscular pathologies, dysphagia, before and/or after reconstructive plastic surgery, TCE, etc. The need for training is detected due to the scarcity of information on the incidence of orofacial myofunctional disorders and other swallowing disorders, as well as the lack of knowledge about therapy. With this master's degree you will acquire the necessary knowledge to analyze the different normal and pathological orofacial behaviors of the structures that intervene in the basic functions (breathing, chewing, swallowing, speaking) and you will design an individualized myofunctional intervention plan for each pathology by deepening, expanding of knowledge, development of skills and abilities and research production.
