Our program's mission is to educate students in the dentistry program to improve oral health and to reduce the burden of illness in society through the discovery and application of academic knowledge that embraces craniofacial health and disease prevention.
The five years Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme is conducted in Manipal campus, India for Phase I and Melaka campus, Malaysia for Phase II. Phase I is a two-year preclinical education while Phase II is a three-year clinical training. The effort is a true reflection of the Manipal vision in nurturing students with towering personalities and to strengthen the Manipal value-based education.
The Stomatology faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University was organized in 1954. The aim of the foundation of the faculty was to provide the population of our Republic with highly skilled dentist specialists.
The IMU Dentistry programme provides a choice of 2 tracks for students. The first track is implemented jointly by the IMU, Malaysia, in collaboration with English-speaking overseas partner universities, with students spending the first phase in Malaysia and the later years at one of our partner universities. On successful completion, the students will receive the degree from the respective partner university. The second track is for students to spend the entire 5 years of the undergraduate programme in IMU and receive the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from IMU.
The faculty offers a five-year program of Stomatology. The teaching-learning process is meant to emphasize the development of practical competence. Careful attention is given to the development of the students' personality and work habits, stressing on a personal skill that are key factors for successful careers.
