The five years Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme is conducted in Manipal campus, India for Phase I and Melaka campus, Malaysia for Phase II. Phase I is a two-year preclinical education while Phase II is a three-year clinical training. The effort is a true reflection of the Manipal vision in nurturing students with towering personalities and to strengthen the Manipal value-based education.

The Stomatology faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University was organized in 1954. The aim of the foundation of the faculty was to provide the population of our Republic with highly skilled dentist specialists. Since the first years, foreign students from – (the Union of Independent Governments), Lyria, Irag, Palestine, Afganistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran and other countries study with Azerbaijanian students. The formation of dentist clinic of the University in 2002 may be considered as the new stage of the stomatology faculty.
The practical classes in this clinic are carried in the classrooms equipped with modern apparatus. Generally, 13 doctors of sciences, professors, 32 docents and senior teachers, 46 candidates of sciences, 24-senior teacher, 89 assistants, 33-teachers work at the stomatology faculty. There are 804 students at the faculty. Among them, 494 are local students and 310 are foreign students. Besides, there are 3 postgraduates, 23 residents and 24 are working on a thesis. The stuff of Scientific Council of the stomatology faculty consists of 21 members (11 professors, 7 docents, 2 assistants and 1 a student)....

The Dental programme is committed to excellence in education, patient care, service and research. It exists to develop dental professionals who will use the knowledge and technology of the 21st century characterized by compassion, leadership, professionalism, creativity, service, and social justice.
New technology is adopted in the teaching process (Endo microscope in Endodontics, CAD/CAM in crown and bridge, and CBCT in Radiology) and central sterilization unit is available for infection control.
Training of students is held on Dummy heads to prepare them for working on patients. Also, training on patients is held in summer period so as students practice and make full use of their free time.
Extra revisions are always done for lagging students and Extra hours are held (4-7pm) for extra clinical practice of students.
